Real Flow test

During a class of mine, a student decided to start learning RealFlow which in turn got me interested in it. So, yesterday I decided to open up the program and follow several tutorials. Using the new knowledge I had gained, I decided to do my own little project of my own. I'm currently doing the full animation render right now so here's a single frame render.

The beginnings of my animated short

So, one day after one of the classes I was subbing, I was talking to some of the students and an idea for a great animated short came up. I decided to follow through with the idea and started working on one of the main characters of the short. Here is the model of the face and hair. The rest of the head has not been modeled yet, I should have that ready later today or tomorrow. Modeled and rendered in Maya.

The Divine Nibru!!!

So.. I got a message on facebook from Jason Manley the dude from conceptart.org and massive black and it stated that the Divine Nibru had taken them all. Curious as I usually am, I had to click on the link to find out what it was. And sure enough.. it stole my soul and I had no choice but to come up with my own version of Nibru.

Skin Shader Edited

Soo.. I attempted at creating the hair in max, and it just wasn't giving me the realistic result that I wanted. I guess I just don't really fully understand the hair systems in that application at the moment. I figured I knew how to use maya hair better, so.. I took it back into Maya, improved upon the shader and going to do all my rendering in there using Mental Ray.

Hugh Laurie Updated

I did some proportion tweaks and worked a bit on his ears. I also gave him some color for his eyes in case people started to complain he looked creepy.

Hugh Laurie Sculpt

After sketching Hugh Laurie, I thought it would be fun to sculpt him, so I did. Well.. He's still a work in progress. The base mesh was created in Maya and the sculpting is being done in Zbrush 3.1. I hope you are liking how it's looking so far.

Bahamut

Due to some slight complications of my entire directory for bahamut being corrupted, I ended up having to do a half-assed bahamut the day of the final for the students. So here's what I was able to get within a few hours. He still needs a lot of work on him, I guess I can start from the beginning and get him to look awesome. I'm just
not satisfied with the results. =\

iPhone Development

I recently purchased myself an iPhone and Macbook Pro to begin development for iPhone applications on the side. Learning Objective-C has been a bit weird, but easy at the same time. I can only do very basic things for now, but even then, I'm beginning to see how everything will come together. Hopefully I'll be able to get through several of these books by the end of next week and really get started. I've even joined several iPhone developer meetup groups in hopes to learn more about creating applications for the hardware. I guess I'll post some art I've done randomly when showing people how to use Mudbox.

FF IX Bahamut for Students to Rig

I decided to model Bahamut from Final Fantasy IX for my students in 3D Character Rigging. I figured it would be good practice for them to try rigging a creature for their second half of the quarter. I started on the base mesh this morning and did sculpting on it off and on today. Here's what I have currently. It's been a bit hard to find good references for him, so I'm making a lot of stuff up.

Wing Zero Custom

I just recently ordered the Wing Zero Custom 1/60 grade model and decided that I would recreate the entire thing in 3D. My plan is to model every single part in this model kit then to rig it up after. I've only just started, so I only have one part so far.

Male Anatomy Sculpt Part 1

Hi all,

I've recently gotten the AnatomyTools.com male anatomy model and it looks awesome! I've also just finished teaching my first quarter at The Art Institute and it seems I'll be teaching a 3d character rigging class next quarter. So with that being said, I've decided to create several characters for my future students to rig. Here's a pretty rough model of the anatomical male I recently started working on. I'll also be creating an anatomical female and probably a quadruped of some sort.
